Alberistics – Climbing Monkey

True to his monkey nature Alby has started to discover the joy of climbing.  Having mastered the stairs just before Christmas he has taken to using my legs as a step whenever he can – usually onto the sofa or the coffee table both of which serve him as acceptable climbing fames for the moment.
Today, once again proving how stupidly I underestimate his skills, I caught him with his walker pushed up against the wicker chair and him climbing up it.  With a footing technique the most accomplished of rock climbers would no doubt be impressed by he transformed the little dips and bumps that make up Winnie the Pooh into suitable steps and scrambled onto the chair.

Later we were outside and he took an interest in the pear tree at the bottom of the garden.  Now, I would like the record to show that Alby didn’t actually do any climbing himself but if the joy on his face is anything to go by then the minor detail of who climbed where appears, to me at least, to be simply academic.  He happily stood there for at least ten minutes and only left with the promise that he could then go in the swing
