One of my favourite things about Alby at the moment is when
he comes and sits on my lap. There is
something about him singling you out, coming to you and choosing to place his
little bottom on your lap which makes you feel very special, and the way he
does it just warms my heart.
Unlike other babies I’ve witnessed who will walk up to their
parents and crawl onto their laps, Alby will stand in front of you, take two or
three paces backwards and then place his bottom down. At no point does he look behind him or make
contact – he trusts that you will be there, ready to snuggle him up.
Not only does he reverse sit down, but when his granddad is sitting
on the sofa and Alby is in a playful mood, he will reverse himself between his
granddad’s legs – which quickly results in him being trapped. Once he has finally managed to break free he
gives a squel of delight and reverses himself back again. Not once has he walked forward, it has to be
the reverse. Little show off!
